Britt
Gully
He sounds like Hank Sr. and a bit like Jimmy
Rodgers, and
writes and pick's guitar like Waylon. Touring with Scott McQuaig
in the early 90`s with Universal Records for MCA Nashville and
opening for numerous class A Nashville acts such as Confederate
Railroad, Montgomery Gentry and many others. Britt has truly paid
his dues not only to the heritage of his home state of Mississippi,
but also for his love and godly Belief that country music was
put in his heart for a reason.
Britt recently said to a close friend that most
of his hero's in country music are gone. Well we feel now its
Britt's turn to carry on the tradition of country music for Mississippi.
Recently Britt has been endorsed by the Jimmy Rodgers foundation
as" Jimmy's Back" to help in promotion of the
Jimmy Rodgers festival in Meridian misses.
As a graduate of Mississippi State University
with a degree
in geology he is truly down to earth! He loves playing in the
Honky Tonks of the south and in Church but don't be surprised
if you here him at a local Convalescent home for the young at
heart. He is currently working in the studio tracking new material
and polishing up his well-known originals here in Miss. With his
band the " WATER MOCCASINS", with Mike Brown on steel,
vocals and lead guitar/Tommy Hank Etheridge on bass/Scott Mc Quaig
on guitar and vocals/Tommy "Bam-Bam" Beddingfield at
drums/with Britt souping up the mix with Vocals, fiddle, guitar
and beer bottle slide with country, folk, Southern rock, blues.
Yep! DOWN HOME MISSISSIPPI PICKING!
